Littlerock (12 miles SW of Olympia)
Thurston County
Washington

Level of difficulty: Mostly level, dirt or paved trail. Clues easy.
Handicap accessible although the box itself might be difficult to
retrieve without assistance.

Setting: Mima Mounds are a geologic mystery within the Mima Prairie
baffling experts for many centuries. It is one of Earth's strangest
landscapes that looks like a field of giant gopher hole mounds. The
mounds measure about 8 feet tall and 30 feet across! If you are
into science fiction or Art Bell type phenomenathen Mima Mounds
Natural Resource Area is the place for you!!!

Highlights: A network of approximately 4 miles of hiking trails
through the interesting mounds.

Facilities: A primitive restroom is located at the parking lot.
Bring a picnic lunch and enjoy it after you find the `Mima Mounds'
letterbox.

Restrictions: No dogs, bicycles or horses allowed in the area.

Length of trek: About mile (30 minutes).

Directions: Take I-5 to Exit #95, head West on Maytown Road SW
through Littlerock. After 3.8 miles, turn right on Waddell Creek
Rd. Continue 1 mile to Mima Mounds Natural Area Preserve which will
be on your left. Cost: Free. Start your trek at the parking lot.
